What about specific things to do? Like Emerald Bay. Kid Zone in Truckee. Donner Museum. Carson City South Lake Tahoe loop. etc. OH use maps!!

You can map routes with Live maps really easy. Another thing that would be interesting is if you aggregate local news. Look at what I did here: http://wiki.opengarden.org/Community/SoCal_Fire. Coincidentally I did this while on vacation in lake tahoe with my family. Here are my photos of this trip:
